This geeky couple came up with a creative way to incorporate their love for WOW into their engagement photos. Bree, a veteran WOW guild member in the Brat Brigade (Aggramar), enlisted the help of Georgia based Chill Photography to aid in the couple’s photographic quest. A national award winning photographer Chill ”was such a pleasure to work with and totally let my fiance and I have the creative leash for these photos,” says Bree.

On May the 4th designer and Star Wars fan Homer Liwag the man behind some of the most famous geek inspired rings ever: the Indiana Jones engagement ring and Star Wars Wedding Band got married! Over on Reddit, Homer shared his Star Wars inspired wedding invitations which he says are “part puzzle, part museum piece” for their “May the 4th be with you” wedding.

Inside a small, black box guests found a white Star Wars miniature ship with the words “Take Off”. The wedding information was then  revealed once you “took off” the paper under the ship.

Printed on the top of the invite is the couple’s wedding icon, a graphic combining the Groom’s love of Star Wars and the Bride’s love of Indiana Jones.

With styling and makeup by Rodrigo Mireia Acosta, Emilia and Ramón enjoy a quick round of swordplay and each other’s company amid stone walls in a Westeros inspired location.

In addition to the shoot, Ramon secretly commissioned the multi-talented team at Fandi.es to create a Game of Thrones inspired wedding box for Emilia. Look through the windows to view hidden messages and nods to the couple’s wedding.

When Reddit user nintendai decided it was time to propose he did so in true Harry Potter style with a Golden Snitch ring box! Unable to find a box that met his Quidditch tournament standards he decided to make his own Snitch with a bedpost knob, gold paint and feathers. 

“The entire process took a couple of weeks (on and off because I had to keep on hiding it from her) and was the first time I actually built anything. It was an extremely rewarding process and she absolutely loved the time, thought, and effort I put into it. Hopefully this design might help some other people come up with creative ideas for their engagements!”

1. Mark on the bedpost the Snitch designs to be carved in and the middle of the bedpost. Then carve in the designs, cut the bedpost in half and hollow out the inside for the ring.

2. Glue on magnets to keep the lid secure.

3. Spray paint the Snitch with gold paint and brown for the bottom stand.

4. Take two feathers and spray paint them gold. Them attach them to the sides with glue.

It was at Ana and Marc’s favorite comic book shop, Happy Harbor Comics in their hometown of Edmonton, where this quirky couple said their “I do’s”.  Inspired by their love of art, toys, robots and comics their all things nerdy wedding was exactly how the bride had envisioned her big day to be. “I wanted my guests to arrive at our venue, feeling that they had left the known world and had stepped into a fantastical version of the world Marc and I had created for ourselves,” says Ana. “We wanted our guests to come into our wedding, like how one would enter our home: to feel the warmth of our hospitality, to taste the exoticness of our world-wide adventures, and to experience the quirkiness of our love and our love of things geeky.”
